Parenday Ki Faryad By Allama Iqbal (پرندے کی فر ياد)

This is yet again a beautiful nazm written by Allama Iqbal for children. It teaches us the value of freedom (Azaadi) through a bird’s plead while she is caged. Even though it was penned by Iqbal with a different purpose in mind, it holds true at the time of coronavirus when a lot of people are away from home, missing their loved ones but cannot travel or be with them.
Therefore, we should cherish the freedom when we have and similarly not make others (less powerful to us) as captive.
I read this poem in Grade 7 and would appreciate if children of today read or listen to it and understand the important message behind it.
